Shopping Fresh And The Importance Of Eating Seasonal

This post was sponsored by Fresh From Florida as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central, however all opinions expressed are my own.
Is it starting to feel like spring where you live? I know here in Atlanta, the winds are slowly starting to turn from cold gusts to warmer breezes thank the good lord! With warmer weather approaching, I have all sorts of delicious ideas and recipes coming into my head on what to make for my family in the upcoming weeks. Don't worry- since I'm not the best cook I usually like to stick to as little ingredients as possible but also realizing that I want the freshest produce to keep my family members both almost 10 months, 4 years and mid 30's to be feeling their best!

One of the reasons why I love eating seasonal fruits and veggies is the taste. Fruits and vegetables really do taste better when they are in their peak season. When they are picked, they have been naturally ripened on the vine or tree and harvested at just the right time. They have so much flavor and nutrition that make food enjoyable to eat! Don't we all hate to eat a flavorless tomato or a limp tasting salad? Exactly- we don't !

Another reason why I love shopping fresh is it's cheaper! Farmers are harvesting a large abundance of produce due to the crop being in season, which makes the cost of the produce will go down. When it's locally sourced because of the season in your particular area, traveling expenses and storage aren't required- which also reduces the production cost!
I came across peppers from Fresh From Florida while shopping at my local Publix the other day and I have to say, since having 2 kids, buying fresh is all I think about! I love that I can count on Fresh From Florida products because they make all their ingredients extremely fresh and they are seasonally grown. This spring my favorite produce includes crispy vegetables like peppers, tomatoes, cabbage, snap beans, radishes and sweet strawberries.

These particular Bell peppers are ones I like to use as often as I can, especially crisp Bell peppers, because I know my family will devour them. I truly love purchasing these Fresh From Florida produce options because it also helps support their business and families. By purchasing these fruits and veggies, you're helping farmers in your community which then in turn helps to build a stronger connection between you as the eater and the grower.

If you're thinking of making your own recipe and incorporating your own products, you'll have to let me know what recipes you find here. Not only does Fresh From Florida have delicious veggies and fruits but they also deliver the most incredible and mouth water recipes you'll want to try over and over. Be sure to check out their Twitter page for more information on what's in season. My own personal recipe will include these delicious red peppers coming soon so be on the watch for it!
