4 Tips To Living Your Best Life

We've all heard the phrase "Living My Best Life" on Instagram, Facebook or just our friends saying it to one another. Do you really live your best life? Are you really making sure that you're taking the time for yourself? I have to admit, that I've been failing in this part with two kids, working and trying to be there for my friends. I feel as if I'm dropping the ball everywhere.


To help with that, I've thought of 4 ways I can really help make this life the truly best that it can be. Here are some tips to help live YOUR best life as well!


1. Eat Empowered- So many of us think of food in a negative way. Flip the switch to a place of positive energy and empowerment and know you’re in control, not the food. It’s not “I can’t eat the dessert.” It’s, “I can eat the blueberries!”




2. Drink Up- Our bodies are up to 70% water! Being dehydrated can zap energy levels, slow down your metabolism, and make you feel hungry. I recommend grabbing a 32 ounce water bottle. All you have to do is fill it up twice a day and you’re good to go. For those times you have occasional constipation, you can add MiraLAX to your water or any other beverage. It's a simple powder to add to a smoothie or drink to enjoy on the go. I shared the smoothie recipe below!

3. Stress Less- We’re all experiencing way more stress than we should. Stress increases the level of the hormone cortisol in our bodies, which in turn makes our bodies crave carbohydrates, specifically high sugar carbohydrates, and store fat around the midsection. There are things you can do right now to take your stress down a notch. Try an eight count breath – breathe in for a count of eight and out for a count of eight. Try this for even just 4 minutes a day and you’ll sleep and feel better.

4. Sweat Often- When you exercise, you release endorphins, which make you feel good and motivate you to eat well. Set a realistic goal you can be super consistent with! I always bring a friend along with me to keep me motivated too!

RECIPE: Blueberry Banana Ginger Smoothie

Ingredients:
3/4 cup almond milk
1 medium banana
1 cup frozen blueberries  
1 tablespoon cashew butter
1/2 ” ginger, peeled and chopped
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon turmeric

Directions:
1. Add all ingredients to the blender, and liquify.
2. Serve with high fiber foods like dried fruits and nuts. Enjoy !

Tip:
When I need to, I add MiraLAX to help with occasional constipation.
