With football season coming up, our house suddenly becomes the one that everyone flocks to! I don’t mind at all because I love having our friends and family over to watch a good football game together.
I always make sure to have a few easy snacks when everyone is over especially when I don’t have much time to make anything quick!  My husband used to play football in high school and college so he loves when his
friends come over to join us to share in all the plays, the tackles and what flags need to be thrown.

We love rooting on our favorite teams, wear our colors with pride and sometimes even get our children involved with helping us set up for our guests to join us. They help us put napkins, plates and little footballs to play catch with while the game plays. I love having them share in these big games to hopefully keep the tradition going for the next few years to come! A house full of shouting, laughter and good food is what I call a successful football party!

These frozen meatballs caught my eye the other day while I was shopping at my local Dollar General. I decided to add one of my favorite soft drinks, Dr Pepper®, to the mix to give these appetizers a sweet and savory taste to them! I’ve been a huge fan of D. Pepper since I was young. I love stocking up on them to earn rewards for buying more

Are you thinking of hosting a gathering for your friends too? Here’s an easy recipe that I made for these Dr Pepper meatballs!

Instruction:
Approximately 2 pounds frozen meatballs
2 Tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon granulated garlic

Instructions
  1. Combine everything except meatballs in a dutch oven or similar pot on stovetop. Stirring constantly, bring just to a boil over medium high heat.
  2. Carefully add meatballs and stir to coat.
  3. Continue to cook over medium heat until sauce has reduced by at least half and is nice and thick (roughly 20 minutes), stirring every so often to prevent meatballs from burning.
  4. Serve on their own as an appetizer or over rice as a meal.

These are always a hit at our home ( as well as drinking delicious, cold Dr Pepper along with the meatballs ). Make sure to visit your local Dollar General for all your football party needs, including almost everything within this recipe! They offer paper products, food and drinks so it makes shopping a one stop shop.
