Lily's 5th Fancy Nancy Birthday Party

I still can't believe my big girl turns FIVE tomorrow. I mean, when people say that it goes so fast when you have kids and literally, I feel as if I just had her last week and she was a tiny 6lb little nugget of hair and cuddles. Now she's running circles around everyone and anyone, laughing along with her brother and getting into a bit of mischief every now and then.

Over the weekend, we had friends and family come into town to celebrate our big girl's day. This year, Lily wanted a Fancy Nancy themed party and I loved recreating her dream by making it as colorful as "ohh, la la" as possible! For those that may not know, Fancy Nancy is actually a book series but Disney Junior turned it into a TV show a few months ago and my little lady is obsessed.

The menu was simple but delicious. Our favorites included ham and cheese sliders, hearty vegetable soup, fruit and vegetable trays plus dessert which obviously was the highlight of the party.
The star of the show was of course, the cake. Our cake was made by a friend of ours  ( I"ll Bring Dessert ) who also made our wedding cake and my baby shower's cake when I was pregnant with Lily! It was extra special to have her make her 5th birthday cake, with her favorite character on top! I have not seen this girl's smile gotten so big!

We're so lucky to have so many great family and friends come celebrate Lily's birthday and feel blessed to be able to have you all here watch her grow over the years! Hope you all enjoyed your weekend! Those that are interested in our kitchen I had a reveal over on the blog too!

  16. My daughter liked the Fancy Nancy books when she was younger. I hope kids are re-discovering the book series through the popularity of the show. I like how both teach kids new words.
