As a teenager, I was part of the lucky crowd who had acne. Not just a few pimples here and there, but big sores under my chin, red and intense zits that covered my forehead, and a scatter of blackheads. Sounds glamorous, right? I felt like I had tried every single product to help clear my skin, but nothing seemed to work.
Fast forward a few years, and it was as if the universe knew I needed help. While browsing the aisles of Walmart, I came upon Differin® Gel. A few friends of mine had mentioned it, and I had personally seen the great results of them using it after a few months. Could it work for me, too? I grabbed a bottle and headed home to try it for the next eight weeks.
Differin® Gel really intrigued me, because this product is the first and only over-the-counter (OTC) product to contain a full, prescription-strength acne fighting retinoid for clearing and preventing acne. It also clears breakouts where they start (deep in the pores) and helps to prevent breakouts before they begin. As a result, it helps restore your skin’s texture and tone. It seemed too good to be true, but I went home to try this newest advancement and ingredient in OTC acne category in over 30 years.
With summer creeping up day by day here in Atlanta, it’s starting to become super hot! With having a newborn only weeks ago, I want to feel my best this summer! Here are four tips to feel confident during these hot months!
1. Exercise – If it’s been awhile since you’ve gone to the gym, don’t worry. I love taking long walks around my neighborhood to get some cardio in. If the days are gray and cloudy, I tend to try to find things in my house to keep me moving. While my newborn naps, I’ll run up and down our flight of stairs five times or even find some fun exercise movements while carrying my newborn! You can find the time! Better yet, get a friend to join in!
2. Don’t Compare – It can be intimidating when summer comes, because we all want to feel and look our best. If someone has lost 40 lbs in the last year, be happy for them! Giving them confidence only brings it back to you!
3. Love Your Clear Skin – As I mentioned above, Differin® Gel is one thing I’m currently loving. I see improvement on my face after using this product for the last eight weeks. Although my skin isn’t perfect, I am seeing a difference after using it in my regular skincare routine. In fact, my skin went from dry, flaky and full of small zits, to glowing, smooth and soft. Thanks to the daily use of Differin® Gel, I rarely have any breakouts on my face. I feel confident and ready for the warmer months to show off my skin to friends and family.
4. Eat Healthy – During the summer months, I tend to crave colder items like big salads and green smoothies. I even try to meal prep my smoothies by placing everything I need in a plastic bag, placing it in the freezer, and then taking it out when I need a quick snack or an early morning breakfast. I gravitate towards easy and simple meals with lots of veggies, fruit, and a bit of protein as well. Plus, I know my body is getting the nutrients it needs, and not only for myself, but for my newborn as well.
So if you’re looking for some easy ways to keep feeling confident in your own skin this summer, try these four tips. Unsure about using Differin® Gel? If you suffer from mild to moderate acne, then you’ll want to try this product. Please use caution when using Differin® Gel with more than one acne treatment or glycolic acid product because this could lead to irritation. So what are you waiting for? Try it today and get your confidence back and your gorgeous clear skin! Go toDifferin.comto get $2 off Differin® Gel and use it on your next shopping trip to Walmart!
