Family photo shoots have come a long way since when I was a child. They are a great snapshot of such a memorable moment and a way to commemorate the love between everyone. It might seem easy to pick out a fun location but coordinating your outfits and attempting to get your children to sit still can be difficult.
Below are a few tips to get a few last minute family photo outfits to wear.

DONT BE AFRAID OF PATTERN
I like to mix patterns with my outfits. I used to be scared that it wouldn’t work well but sometimes it’s ok to go for it and pick up different shades of the color. In fact, patterns actually photograph well too. Don’t add several patterns but just pick one and then coordinate the colors with everyone else.

FEEL GOOD
It might seem silly but wear clothes and colors that you feel good about. You want to feel confident, comfortable, and feeling your best when the camera is snapping away. I always think darker colors look great on my family because of our dark hair so you’ll see us wearing them often when we have photoshoots for Valentine’s Day outfit ideas.

USE DIFFERENT COLORS
Black is a common choice when it comes to family photos but try to mix up the fabric. You can use black pants and mix them with a matte shirt or black jeans or vest. All these different fabrics pick up and give some separation.
Have A Theme:
If the color isn’t what you are going for but you want a fun theme; start with matching tees for the entire family and get creative. You can wear a jacket over it, skinny jeans and fun rain boots while your son has the same tee shirt and different pants. Someone else can wear a hat to mix it up as well.

Be Patient
My kids are not always going to be smiling in the photos. As you can see, our photographer just kept taking the pictures even though Landon was having a huge meltdown. ( Be mindful of doing them around nap time for this exact reason ). Try and have fun with it.
