It’s no secret that 2020 was a year of heartache, loss, and hardship for many of us. As the new year approaches, you might be like me and looking for ways to motivate yourself, your friends and a way to improve your life. This year was a big positive growth change for me and with 2021, I want to keep adopting these habits to make it a year memorable.
Below are a few things that have been helping me and what I want to continue in the new year as well as other ideas from all of you!
MENTAL HEALTH :
Journaling: Many of you said you began journaling to help you with your mental health. Writing has always been something I’ve loved to do and ever since I began gratitude journaling, it’s really helped me. There are many options for 5-minute journaling and reflection. There are even TEEN ones as well.
Playing With Kids: I don’t mean just running around the house but actually sitting down and playing with your kids. Playing leads to laughter which can decrease inflammation, reduce tension and even help lower your blood pressure.
Meditate: This has been a huge help for my mental state and if I can help it, I try to do this in the morning when I wake up and before I go to bed. Even if it’s only for a few minutes a day, it helps reduce my stress, better focus my attention span and improves my sleep. I use my Peleton App [ use code 784ZFV ] to get $100 off too!
Declutter: You guys know I’m a huge fan of organizing and decluttering helps me to stay organized day after day. It also helps me find things that I need and really boosts my mood and focus on my goals. I like to go through my closet and declutter that first to help me decide what I love to wear and make me feel confident. I’ve linked several favorite organizing items I use all throughout my home!
EXERCISE:
This is one of my biggest ways to make myself feel better! Usually, it’s trying to find time and energy to work out every day is a struggle. While it might be time-consuming it is really a way to keep me feeling my best both inside and outside. I love using my Peleton and also various free workout ideas.
BUDGET:
Financial worries can cause personal stress and put a strain on relationships. Setting a weekly or monthly budget can make your life easier by making you aware of exactly what you’re buying and making sure you’re using your money in the right way. It also helps you prepare for important things like vacations, mortgage down payments, home repairs, or education costs. If conversations about money are a sticky point between you and your partner, setting a budget together can offer clear direction and help you arrive at your goals faster. Most of all, it gives you a sense of control and accomplishment.
SKINCARE:
I for one really needed to step up my skincare game and couldn’t wait to find a product that really helped with my dry skin. TULA to the rescue friends! I linked both my AM and PM skincare routine and you can use code CAITCOZY for 15% off to grab your favorites and use as many times as you need to!
What are some things you’re going to do in 2021 to make it a better year?
