While were waiting for all of the craziness of the world to slow down, that doesn’t mean the chaos has to stop in your own home 😉 If you have busy kids like myself, it can be difficult to find activities to keep them occupied while also learning at the same time.
Below are a few items we love and continue to purchase throughout the last few months.
Car Mat – Are your kids car obsessed like my son? We purchased this car mat for his birthday a few months ago and he loves being able to drive all of his matchbox cars around. We then talk about the various building that are on his mat, discuss what cities are and how people work in these buildings to help our community. You can make it a fun game and work on colors of cars, geography and more!
Amazon Kindle Fire’s– This has been a huge life savor when it comes to working on games or school work for them since I need my own laptop for work. I downloaded a few favorite educational games such as ABC Mouse and Brain Pop Junior and they love being able to interact and learn at the same time! The bundle pack saved us some money too and I love the kid proof case so it won’t break if when they drop it.
Drawing Tablet- These are one of our favorite things not only to keep them occupied on writing and drawing but they don’t make a mess either! They come in a variety of colors and can be used for traveling or just doodling in bed when they need some quiet time.
Charades – Do your kids love to act? This is such a fun game for them to learn about new things and act them. Better yet- it’s hysterical to do with the entire family to get everyone involved!
Never Bored Kid Book – This activity book is filled with fun activities like mazes, word searches and more to help their fine motor skills, vocabulary, reading and critical thinking. There are several different ones for your kids age so make sure you grab a few to keep them occupied!
Velcro Dart Board – If your kids love learning their numbers or enjoy throwing this is the perfect ( and safe ) dart board to play with them because it uses small velcro balls. Help teach them math by keeping score, increments of 10 and colors.
Magnetics– My kids are obsessed with these little magnetics! They use them to build huge towers, cities or even their own castles to have battles over! you can use them for so much other then building. Talk about their shapes and how many sizes each has. Talk about their colors and color coordinate them into categories.
Indoor Trampoline – This has been a life savor for when our kids need to burn off some extra energy! I love that it gives them the time to jump and I’m not worried that they are going to get hurt since it’s enclosed all around them. There are smaller versions too if you’re interested.
Monkey Balance Board – This board helps improve your kids balance and coordination! It’s the perfect size for your toddlers feet and can accommodate larger ones too ( up to 200 pounds ) Plus, you can use it indoors and outdoors if you want!
Easy Outdoor Space Dome – I wish I had this when I was younger. This dome helps your kids balance, their confidence to work on their agility. It’s an outdoor dome but you can easily bring it inside in your basement with carpet or some mats underneath it.
