Well hey there friends and happy hump day! It’s been a week that’s for sure. I know I haven’t been sharing much detail with you all about what’s been going on behind the blog so I wanted to fill you in on why I might be away for a little bit here and there.
It all started about 8 months ago when we found out that Zach’s company was going to be merging. This happened about three years prior when we lived near Chicago and found out that we’d be moving to Atlanta in little over two months! We packed everything up and made the move down to this southern state. It was such an exciting time for us and our little family.
Three years have passed and we’ve learned so much. We’ve moved into our dream home, created a lief on our own, welcomed Landon last year, celebrated countless birthdays, engagements, births, weddings and more. It truly felt like a place that we just wanted to consider where we would put roots down. But of course- that all changed a few weeks ago when we found out that Zach was asked to come back to Chicago for his job ( plus a great promotion).
Of course we had a long talk about it. There are so many pros and cons to staying and leaving but ultimately, we decided that going back would probably be best, mainly to be closer to family. My parents would be about 20-30 minutes away and Zach’s family is about 4 hours. For those of you that have children, I’m sure you can understand being near family is such a blessing.
For the last few weeks, we’ve been dealing with so much. We’ve navigated a trip up to Chicago coming next week to look at homes, putting our own home up on the market and trying to figure out how we can cram everything in with seeing our incredible friends in the next few weeks that we have while we’re down here. Of course we have a few trips planned that were already in the works before we are heading back to Chicago which I’ll try to be sharing with you all.
In any case, I know you will understand when I’ll be here and there on the blog while we finalize and get everything in order here for the next few weeks. Be sure to follow along on my Insta Stories to see where we are and what we’re up too. I do have a few fun things in the works and can’t wait you all updated on how it works!

Congrats on your move! It'll be nice to be closer to family. My sister and her husband moved back to MN (from Chicago, actually) after my niece was born to be closer to family. It's really helpful to them to be closer to my parents and me, because we can step in whenever they need help. And it's nice for us to be a big part of my niece and nephew's lives! I love being able to pick them up from school and take them places on their day off to spoil them. π
