When we built our home two years ago one of the big things we did NOT do was paint our powder room. It was a ‘builder’s white’ which I absolutely hated and needed to think about how I wanted to spruce it up on a budget. These few things truly helped transform the room in a few simple steps and I thought you’d all appreciate it too!
The first thing we did was to paint the room to add a fun pop of color. If you’ve seen the rest of my home, you know that we have almost every single room a ‘french grey’ but I wanted this room to be something different. I like adding pops of navy and gold throughout my home as fun accent colors ( plus it can work year-round with light pink and green in Spring or red and black for winter ). I decided to paint the powder room “Dark Navy” by BEHR and it turned out better then I expected!
You may have seen me make this on my INSTAGRAM a few months back but when I saw this sign I knew I wanted to make something similar for the room. A friend of mine owns a Board and Brush store and that’s where I created this wooden sign that I think fits perfectly! This was a customized sign so they don’t have it as a template, however, they do offer many ideas to help you find the perfect one for your own powder room. I found the sign HERE for those interested in purchasing one! It’s such a great conversation piece 😉
I’m into french antiques to add some flair and when I saw THIS I knew it would be a great accent piece in the powder room. I love the simple detail and it reminds me of a certain FAMOUS MIRROR my other friends have for half the price! It’s a great conversation piece and I’m so happy with it.
There are few other things I want to add down the road to the powder room like shelving but so far, I think we made some great progress by just changing a few things around! What do you guys think?
