It’s been a few weeks [ check week one and two here ] since I began reading and my mind has really shifted from looking at what I don’t think I should eat to “you should ENJOY this food” which has been such an eye-opener. No longer am I really looking at eating foods
One of my goals before reading this book was to have more energy to play with my kids. One way I was able to do that was by starting the morning off drinking lemon water. This not only helped get some water intake for the day but also gave me the energy to feel good about my choices in what I’m putting in my body. “Water really helps digest your food, expel waste, regulate your temperature, protect your tissues, cushion your joints, and protect your spinal column among many other vital functions. It is through water that hormones flower to those proper organs, nutrients reach all cells and the toxins are dilated and removed from the body.”.
Another goal I had was checking on my personal eating habits. I wanted to incorporate more healthy fats into my everyday routine. According to the book, “healthy fats can also help increase feelings of fullness and satisfaction because they regulate appetite through a number of mechanisms, including the release of appetite hormones. What’s more, combining fat with fiber has been shown to further increase the satiating potential of fat. The satiating power of fats is often one explanation offered to describe why some weight loss trials have shown that low-carbohydrate ( and higher fats ) diets tend to lead to greater weight loss than low-fat diets.” Some healthy fats I enjoy eating are avocados with some everything bagel seasoning and two boiled eggs to help keep me full between meals. This is such an easy snack to enjoy and make too!

I am glad to see so many positive results coming out of this book. I have to admit I was a bit skeptical at first because it seems so different than the norm. I was very interested in seeing the science behind it and how it would work.

Good to know about such diets. We always prefer to eat around 8 pm. And I am sharing this article with few friends who eat their dinner around 6 pm. Thanks for sharing this. And I personally added more healthy fats to my diet too.
